Well I just thought I had better start this soon or it will be too late to bother. Story so far.
Last Saturday I washed everything in very strong degreseing agents then dried the parts.
Last Sunday rinsed all parts then let dry in air. Today sanded CM end of engine block and mating cone (from engine to storage modules) surface.

Hi Folks Nov 15 & 16 spent sanding pour sprue's off stores/fuel modules and connecting rings, sizes average 10mm to 4mm respectively! Slow and repetitive work but my finger-nails are nicely trimmed ;D and I am missing finger prints on my thumb, index and middle fingers (great time to do some crime ). The sanding was done on an orbital sander that became a flat bed sander by clamping it upside down to the table. You get creative when you are a model maker with one arm . I remembered to take some pics and will put them and the earlier ones up when I start painting in a few days.
Happy modeling folks!
Dave

Well I broke 3 of the spine clamps today clearing them off the sprue but they have been put aside with CA on them, the rest are now clear and so are the half clamps (end of spine) my hand is shaking badly as they are 4mm x .5mm . glad thats over

Starting up the Dry Dock in next few days, as the Holiday period required a little attention and "Why is that still in the way?" also "Wasn't that supposed to be put away, you know we have visitors in the next few days?" So all will be becoming calm and white, as only a 2001 ship can be ;D

The fun you can have modeling!
Like stringing 80+ pieces of the spine, not much to say except I had a hell of a job stopping myself from painting the Fuel Pod connection points as the hex pieces would rotate on the spine just at the wrong moment! and the cargo clamps! Those evil little buggers had to be balanced in situ and then a drop of CA placed where they touched the coupling device (at which point they tended to leap off the model and try to hide until they had stuck themselves to the cutting mat, the x-acto knife, my finger, the newspaper or a passing DOG ) some will need to be realigned LATER!!! ;D
Here are some pics as promised.....
