Today I received the weapons satellite kit from Adam and AJA Models. ;D It arrived very well packaged in a plain brown wrapper, had to explain that to my wife, and labeled with several shots of the finished model around the box. I gave the kit a once over to check on the casting, detail, etc. My first impressions is one of excellent casting procedures and sharp crisp detail. There are parts in the kit that I believe Adam may have used a microscope to help his eyesight. I did not see any voids or air bubbles in the casting and what cleanup that needs to be done to remove flashing, etc is minimal. The largest piece of the kit, the main body containing the "wings" that run the length of the body is very well cast although there seems to be some minimal warpage occuring in some of the "wings" lengths that occured during casting which should be easily corrected by heating and restraightening...no problemo. A small bag of detailed parts is also enclosed that are again very well cast with minimal cleanup–if any. The instructions are nicely made and easily understood and a set of decals is included displaying the Chinese national emblem. Overall I find this kit to be an masterful, well crafted addition to the orbiting weapons series and I am going to thoroughly enjoy piecing this little beauty together!

Having just got the notice from reception that my kits are here, I immediately bopped over and grabbed 'em.
I 2nd Tagdot's comments and add a few.
While I will be leaving one of the two kits sealed indefinitely, I can comment on the one I will build as I ripped that open the moment I got back to my seat.
Cool box w/ cool sticker/packaging showing the model.
Packed full w/ peanuts, all the parts are in sealed baggies except the main body which is bubble wrapped.
I can see some very minor warping along the lengths of a few of the radiator fins as Tagdot noted. But at a slight distance the eye blurs all those lines together and suggests straight lines all around.
The 8 pronged fan at the 'front' of the satellite has heavy flash along the edges, but fingernail scrapping should get rid of it all. There are also dozens of tiny parts and even more poly strands.
3 big body parts, 3 panels, the fan along with the multitude of smaller parts and 3 decals constitute the kit. (Hope nothing breaks!!! Everything on this kit would be a difficult fix should anything chip or outright break off.)
I'll look it over in more detail tonight and try and get a few pix up as well. Instructions? I don't need no stinkin' instructions! Oh wait! Yes I do! I'll read those tonight as well.
Thanks Adam! It was worth the wait and there is no disappointment here. I just have two words: Space Station!

I received the kit as well. Very nice casting. But no instructions. If AJA is reading this perhaps you can email a pdf to me?

I got my kit today and it looks great. I'm already thinking about how to mount it. Maybe a clear acrylic rod thru the mid section showing it like it appears in the movie.
