DCP stands for Digital Cinema Package, so yes, a digital screening.

This was a digital restoration of a 4k, 70mm print that only the Academy of Motion Pictures and the Aero now have, shown on a 4k projector in THX. Wow. Gorgeous. The old 70mm prints that were going around were an edit of the 70mm and the 35mm. They were grainy, scratched to heck with dust and holes in the frames. Where the 35mm was blown up 200%, looked blurry on top of all the other issues just mentioned. This digital print was pristine in the truest sense of the word. I have never seen any film so perfectly as I did this one, not even current films I've seen are this good as they are film and immediately subject to damage in the printing process. Every little panel's writing was clearly legible, so many small details I've never seen before -even having seen the 70mm print a half dozen times over the last few years. Absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait until they screen it again, usually once or twice a year.
