I've got that kit and it's really nice. I'm surprised he mentioned that the legs didn't bend with time as mine certainly did. Not the main struts but the horizontal ones. Admittedly I had modified the gear so that I could retract it for photos. I ended up redoing them in the retracted position (why does the Aries have retractable landing gear anyway? In space you don't need to have them folded) .
But I do wish he would concentrate on one thing at a time. I would be interested in his new Aries, but couldn't lay out cash 5 years in advance.

That horizontal cross bar is good to know about , Keith. How tough was that to mod the legs? that is something I want to do for my eventual 15", but the 6" would seem like tight fit for any finagling. Can you post some pix, describe the process you went through?
I know what you mean about Scott's focus. I've been on the CMK list now for 1.5 years. I'm hoping he knocks the Aries off so he can finish off the CMK interior and I can get my kit. But, Scott's in tough $ shape and needs some fast cash. This kit is a great way to get some. I'm very glad it's been released again. I drove up to his place to pick up my D-7 the other year and saw that very Aries in person. It's a cool little piece.
PS. I'll youtube a review when I get mine next month.

It's a bit difficult to describe and I don't have photos. I hinged all the parts which had to move, but I made an upturned U shaped clip on the main gear to accept the lower of the horizontal struts. I glued a stout piece of plastic strip inside the well going halfway across the opening. To lower the gear, you would manoever the internal horizontal strut past this bit of plastic and then back under it so that it would rest against it and not go back inside. The lower horizontal strut would be clipped to the main gear. Trouble is the gear is too big to go through the opening on the hull, so that had to widened and a temporary plastic panel placed over the now enlarged opening with double sided tape.
Don't know if that will make much sense, I'm afraid!

Maybe someone will cover the landing gear stuff, in their build postings. (hint hint)
